Buying components

Understanding compatibility

Some PC components must match specific hardware standards. Our catalogue displays compatibility information where it is available.

CPU sockets

A CPU and motherboard must use the same socket. For example, an AM5 CPU requires an AM5 motherboard.

RAM types

Motherboards support specific generations of memory, such as DDR4 or DDR5. DDR4 and DDR5 are not interchangeable.

CPU coolers

A CPU cooler must support the socket used by your motherboard and processor. Supported sockets are shown on compatible listings where that information is available.

Compatibility suggestions

Compatibility suggestions on this website are based on hardware information stored in our catalogue. Always check the manufacturer's specifications before purchasing.

Selling your PC

Preparing your information

Providing accurate information and clear photographs helps us understand the PC you are offering.

Key specifications are required

We need the CPU, RAM, graphics card and motherboard details to provide an accurate valuation. Other optional specifications can be left blank if you are unsure.

Photographs

Use clear, well-lit photographs showing the computer and its condition. Make sure the requested areas are visible and avoid blurry or heavily cropped images.

Be accurate about condition

Mention any faults, damage, missing parts, unusual noises, or other problems you know about.
